For today’s Music Lesson for Wintertime, enjoy watching videos, learning about a composer, and filling out the notebooking pages below — all in only 15 minutes!

The Piano Guys “Frozen” & Vivaldi’s “Winter”

First, watch this video of  The Piano Guys performing “Let it Go” from the movie Frozen along with the beautiful Baroque music written by Vivaldi : “Winter” from The Four Seasons.

Discuss with your kids what they heard. Could they pick out the songs from Frozen? Could they tell when Winter was being played? Do they think the pieces work together?

Vivaldi’s Winter

Now, listen to Winter alone. What instruments do you see playing this original version by Vivaldi?

Learn about Vivaldi for the Music Lesson for Wintertime

  2. This is the first lesson we’ve tried from your site. It was a total success – one of my children immediately picked up his violin when we were done, and another (who hasn’t shown a great deal of interest in instruments) said, “I want to play cello!” Thanks so much – we are looking forward to more!
