Today, we're diving into a topic that will inspire and enrich your homeschool experience—How to include simple art appreciation with Daily Art Courses from Enrichment Studies (now available through Music in Our Homeschool). It's the easiest way ever to include an art appreciation course in your homeschool.
Are you looking for an EASY way to go deeper with art appreciation or art history? Something sequential, relatable, and click-and-go simple? Well, Daily Art has got you covered!
Picture this: Your kids debating Caravaggio’s use of chiaroscuro over breakfast… Your teen connecting Rococo art to Enlightenment philosophy… Your preschooler recognizing Van Gogh’s brushstrokes in a doctor’s office painting. This isn’t fantasy – it’s what happens when art becomes part of your daily rhythm!
Why Art Appreciation Matters More Than Ever
Here’s the thing—Art provides a visual narrative of history, culture, and human expression. It enhances critical thinking, creativity, and even empathy.
In our screen-dominated world, art study through art appreciation develops three crucial skills: • Visual literacy: Decoding imagery in advertisements, news, and social media • Historical empathy: Understanding perspectives through centuries of creativity • Creative problem-solving: Analyzing how masters overcame artistic challenges
Yet most homeschool moms feel unequipped to teach art appreciation. That’s where Daily Art transforms “I wish” into “We did it!”
Who is Daily Art for?
Daily Art courses are designed to make art appreciation effortless, engaging, and educational for all homeschool families. Whether you're following a Charlotte Mason philosophy, Classical education, or simply looking for meaningful family learning during Morning Time, Daily Art fits seamlessly into your routine.
What Makes Daily Art Special?
So, what exactly is Daily Art? It’s a done-for-you, click-and-go online course that combines the ease of Fine Art Pages with the power of video-based learning—all presented in a super simple format.
Each course is organized chronologically, allowing your family to journey through art history, meeting famous artists (including incredible women artists!) along the way.
Here’s what you can expect:
Biographical Information: Get to know the artists behind the masterpieces.
Art Analysis: Explore detailed discussions, often filmed in world-renowned museums.
Historical Perspective: Understand the cultural and historical context of each artwork.
Coordinating Art Projects: When available, hands-on projects help reinforce learning.
Plus, you get access to Fine Art Pages to view online, print for display at home, or add to your art notebook.
Perfect for both High School Credit & Family Learning
One of the best features? Daily Art isn’t just for elementary kids. It’s an excellent resource for high school fine arts credit! The bonus materials, like the Artist Study Notebook and Copywork Pages, provide added depth for older students and younger kids alike.
Imagine this: Your high schooler earns art appreciation credit while your younger kids engage with the same material during your homeschool Morning Time. It’s family-style learning at its best!
Art History Complements Other Subjects
Daily Art also complements other subjects beautifully. Studying the Renaissance? Dive into works by Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Sofonisba Anguissola.
Learning about European history? Discover the art of Rubens, Rembrandt, and Vermeer. Art becomes a visual anchor, helping your kids recall historical events and cultural shifts more vividly.
Studying American history? You'll love learning about the works of American painter Gilbert Stuart (1755-1828).

Hello. I have a high schooler who will be taking American History. I was looking for a fine arts curriculum. Daily arts sounds interesting. How can I incorporate it with the American history? BTW, your emails have helped me so much, being new to homeschooling. Thank you

I think I would use the 20th Century Music Appreciation or the American Music course to go along with the American history. Daily Art focuses almost entirely on artists outside of America. Here are the links: https://musicinourhomeschool.com/the-best-ever-resource-to-use-when-teaching-20th-century-history/, https://musicinourhomeschool.com/american-music-for-elementary-online-course/. Even though the American Music course says it’s for elementary, you can use it alongside your high schooler’s history course for enrichment. 🙂
Thank you so much! This sounds great
