More Details about the Intermediate Singing Lessons

Singing Made Easy ~ Level 5 begins with “He’s Got the Whole World In His Hands.” Students enjoy adding hand gestures once they have the song memorized.
Included in this set are some songs you may recognize, such as “Cradle Song” by Brahms (in German) and “Virgin’s Slumber Song,” a well-known Christmas carol. The round, “Summer Is A-Comin’ In,” can be sung in two to six parts if there are enough people. Those who enjoy hiking will love singing “The Happy Wanderer.” There is a famous Japanese folk song, “Cherry Blossoms,” and students relish singing in Japanese, maybe for the first time in their lives. There is a pronunciation guide for all foreign language songs.
A widely known favorite is “The Flowers That Bloom in the Spring” from The Mikado by Gilbert and Sullivan. An Irish ballad, “The Harp That Once Through Tara’s Halls” in two-part harmony will bring tears to the eyes of the audience when performed with appropriate expression.
Students can sing along with the voice tracks on the included MP3s until they know the songs and then with the included accompaniment tracks only.
This set, although more difficult than the previous books, is definitely worth the work. When students perform these songs, they have a real sense of accomplishment that they’ve improved in vocal technique and learned how to sing in parts!
